We will help you decide the features you need for your lifestyle, and weigh this against the money you wish to spend. There are many intermediate models not mentioned on this list as well as different styles - which may have the exact features you want at the right price. All of the brands have a wide range of physical styles, colours, and models. Manufacturers from time to time offer discounts and these will be passed on to you.  The trial period is to make sure that you can work the aids, make adjustments of necessary, and that you are satisfied with your choice.

Consider cost: You need to decide if your priority is the most economical option or are you willing to pay more for better technology or features like Bluetooth connectivity for your TV or cell phone. Even the cheapest aids we sell have good technology and may be quite satisfactory in most listening situations. More expensive aids will perform better in back ground noise.

Consider battery consumption. The bigger aids have size 13 batteries which last 2 to 3 weeks. The 312 battery is the most common size and generally lasts 10 days. The size 10 battery is in the very smallest aids and only lasts 3 to 5 days. We sell batteries at a lot cheaper price than supermarkets or chemists.

Consider dexterity. Bigger aids are easier to handle. Custom made earmoulds can be easier to manage. Thin tube and RITE aids look better cosmetically but some people have trouble getting them in the ear. Some people have difficulty setting manual volume controls, aids that turn on at a preset level and act automatically will be easier.

Consider reliability. In the ear aids will require more repairs because the ear canal is not a good place for electronics. Thin tube and receiver in the ear (RITE) aids are not so good if you have a lot of wax. All of our hearing aids come from high quality reliable manufacturers and have a 2 year manufacturers international warranty.

Consider acoustics and hearing loss. Aids which do not completely block the ear such as mini BTE aids are better for mild to moderate losses – you will hear better in noise, you will not get own voice and chewing noise problems. Severe losses may require bigger aids, bigger batteries, close fitting moulds. In the ear aids are suitable for moderate to severe losses but now are less popular.

Consider connectivity. Many aids aids now are compatible with remotes, and Bluetooth systems which can be used with your cellphone, landline phone, or television. Even the cheapest bigger aids generally have telecoil to use with special telephones, loop systems in churches and picture theatres - smaller aids may not have room for a telecoil.
