Funding

Subsidy all New Zealand residents are entitiled to a subsidy once every 6 years which is currently $511.11 per ear (incl. GST).

Accessable also has what they call a "fully funded" option, but our fitting fee still applies. This is for people who are working, born D/deaf, have a community service card, and/or have mutiple disability. Eligible clients are scored on a point scale and unless you are rated as very high priority then the wait currently is several months.

Blue Lagoon Trust has grants available only to residents of Tauranga city. You will have to give details of your bank accounts to show you are particulaly in need.

WINZ will pay a loan typically up to $1000 which you can pay back from your pension or benefit.

War Veterans can apply for funding for hearing loss attributable to military service. If approved this is currently fully funded but generally they fund the more modest cost hearing aids. There are some reciprocal agreements with countries such as the UK.

Owners descretion Clients having difficulty paying their account may enter into agreement with the owner. Generally you will need to pay half, and the rest at agreed intervals by automatic payment. There is no finance charge or interest paid.

ACC

If you believe all or part of you hearing loss is due to noise exposure you can make an application to ACC. If approved, hearing aids were previously fully funded. However from the 1st of January 2011 the funding received depends on 10 bands based on how much of your loss has been attributed to noise. See the ACC Funding page for more information.
